What is SIKA?
SIKA or Sirib Ilokano Kabataan Association is an association of the youth of Ilocos Norte founded through the proposal of the campers if the Sirib Leadership Camp. This association was established to voice-out the concerns of the youth and help in the fast-tracking developments of the province.



Who can become members of SIKA?
All Ilokano youth aging 14-30 years old interested and dedicated to serve his/her community without expecting and reward.

Sirib Ilokano Kabataan Association upholds its motto, “Timek ti Agtutubo.” By becoming a part of the Association, you will be involved in project planning and policy making which will be incorporated in the various projects and programs of the Provincial Government. The implementing guidelines for the Sirib Scholarship for SIKA Youth Leaders was formulated by the Board of Association and have been adopted by the Provincial Government to govern special leadership scholarships under the program “Iskolar ni Manang Imee!”

·         Be trained into a great leader!
Sirib Ilokano Kabataan Association envisions of becoming a pool of well-trained, service-oriented, and highly-regarded youth leaders. Hence, it conducts workshops, trainings and forum which hone the leadership and managerial skills of its members. Also, by handling vital positions in the executive organs of the Association, a member will be able to experience leading the growing Association while constantly being guided by competent peers and advisers.

·         Have the chance to participate in various activities!
Sirib Ilokano Kabataan Association aims to develop skilled and talented youths in the Province. Hence, in collaboration with government and non-government organizations, SIKA conducts activities which hone the skills and talents of its members. Examples are trade fairs or Sirib Biz (entrepreneurship), SIKA booths (interpersonal), youth awareness campaigns (public speaking), and others. The great thing is that you won’t just improve yourself but enjoy the company of other youth leaders who share the same interests like you.



How to join SIKA?
·         STEP 1: PRE-REGISTER. If you are interested to join the Association, you may signify your interest to become a member by pre-registering. This may be accomplished in three ways: 1) SMS Pre-Registration, 2) Online Pre-Registration, or 3) Written Pre-Registration.

SMS PR: Text your Name, Age, Birthdate, Municipality, School (if not applicable, please indicate whether OSY or Working), Contact Number, and E-mail address to 09468202145.

ONLINE PR: Visit www.facebook.com/SIKAIlocosNorte and look for the Online Pre-registration link at the page. Click the link to redirect you to the online form. Fill out the form accurately.

WRITTEN PR: Approach a SIKA member deputized to pre-register and/or orient. Fill out the pre-registration form.




·         STEP 2: ATTEND THE ORIENTATION. After Pre-registration, you will be receiving an SMS informing you about the nearest scheduled membership orientation. Please follow the instructions for the confirmation of attendance included in the SMS. Upon confirmation, final instructions will be given regarding your orientation (i.e. shirt color, final time and venue).

Failure to attend and/or finish the orientation will not qualify you to become a member of the Association. The orientation is one important requirement to membership as mandated by the SIKA Constitution and By-Laws.
If you just heard about the conduct of the Orientation and you did not Pre-Register, you are still encouraged to attend and will be treated equally during orientation but you will be of less priority in terms of orientation collaterals.

·         STEP 3: FILL-OUT MEMBERSHIP FORM. After the Orientation, you will be given a Membership Form. By filling out the form, you are giving your consent to the Association to access the information you have written. Without a duly accomplished Membership Form, one will not be counted as member and will not be encoded in the master list of SIKA members.


·         STEP 4: TAKE THE OATH OF MEMBERS. Upon filling out the Membership Form, a member of the Board of Association or any of the deputized members to orient will lead you in reciting the Oath of Membership. This should be taken seriously as it outlines the goal and objectives of the Association, and the responsibilities of each member to the Association.
